Petroglyphs and Pictographs of Utah Volume Two: The South, Central, West, and Northwest
This volume is the second of two on the rock art, especially the prehistoric rock art, of Utah. Volume I covered the art of the northeast and east; this volume discusses the rock art of the remainder of the state. The chapters are organized basically geographically, making use of natural boundaries rather than necessarily cultural one.
Volume I dealt heavily with the art attributed to the Fremont culture: this volume concentrates much more on the art styles of the Archaic and Anasazi cultures, especially the latter, although many Fremont-style panels will be enountered here as well, for the Fremonters were were prolific artists.
